Trip to TimeSquare, NY

Day 1:

New York City is awesome! So far I've seen Spiderman strolling about, drank a strawberry martini (not all the way though cuz the tequila in it was disgusting), got kicked out of Trump hotel, took a stroll through Central Park, road in 4 different taxis so far but without a jamaican guy at the wheel, played DDR Supernova in a humongous Toys R Us with a crowd aweing at my skillz, tried guacomole and sour cream on my NYC original chicken quesadilla and hated the taste (won't ever do that again), messed with a Zohan, and gave out a few quarters to some homeless people. Yesterday was bum day and just hanging out; we walked everywhere in Timesquare. Our hotel is the Millenium Broadway hotel right in the middle of Timesquare, it's pretty neat. Today we have plans to go to Ground Zero, the Empire State building, the David Letterman show, and some crazy good italian restaurant (supposedly) that I've never heard of.

Day 2

The day started with some decent breakfast at the Millenium Broadway Hotel that we are staying at; the hotel has pretty good blueberry pancakes and very tasty hash browns. We then went to the Empire State building and bought express tickets so we didn't have to wait in the long lines; plus Eddie's mom who joined us on the trip had ripped some cartilage in her leg so it hurt for her to walk on it for extended periods of time. It's nice though New York has been very accomodating to her, we get special service for her having a gimp leg (get to the front of the lines and stuff).

The Empire State building was pretty neat, the view was awesome and also very sad as the world trade towers leave a big gap in the skyline. After the Empire State building, we ate some NY pizza (which was really good!) and chilled out at the hotel for a while. After that we went to St. Patrick's Cathedral - which is an amazing structure and must-see visit in NY city. Our last stop was at Carmine's, it's an italian eatery and has the best italian food I have ate at so far! The dishes cost a pretty penny but the amount you get can feed a family of 4 at least. We had chicken parmagiana and some delicious parmesan cheese garlic bread.

Day 3

Day 3 started out at Bubby's Pie company for breakfast. They have the best lemonade I've ever had; it was a strawberry flavored lemonade and it was extraordinary! After that we took a taxi to Battery Park to get our tickets for a Ferry ride over to Liberty Island and Lady Liberty herself. We took a bunch of pictures there (of which I'll put up later on my website when I get back home) and then took the Ferry to Ellis island. If you aren't familiar with this island it was the primary door to the United States for Immigrants from between 1894 to 1921. So if you are an American, there may be a good chance that your ancestors came to the United States through Ellis island. The island has names of all (or at least most?) of the immigrants that came over. I was able to find names for Stiles and Sanders, both on my father's side. I wasn't able to find names for my Mom's side. It was really kewl though. The only bad part of that island was when a seagull pooped on my head! I have a picture of that too, don't worry. So now we're here in the hotel taking a break before we go eat at a place called John's and then we'll be off to a comedy show with Louis CK.

Day 4

The morning started out late because we were all tired from the Louis CK comedy show at Caroline's on Broadway. The comedy show was pretty good, three comedians performed: Colin, Keith Robinson, and of course Louis CK. I thought Colin was actually funnier than the other two including the big performer, but that's just me.

So we ate lunch at the Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant. I had a burger of some kind, fries, and a strawberry lemonade. The lemonade was not nearly as good as the one I got from Bubby's Pie company. But it was good food and a unique place. We had to eat kind of quickly because we had to get to our Broadway show: Last Awakening. It was a musical and it was extraordinary! This show made me start thinking about getting into acting again! It ran around 2 hours I think including an intermission. The seats in the theatre weren't all that great, comfy, but not good at ALL for stretching. My body was sore after the show, but it was worth it because the show was excellent.

After the show we went to Bloomingdale's and specifically the Men's store which has a bunch of Calvin Klein stuff in it. Everything...was REALLY expensive! All I wanted was a nice black overshirt and a decent white undershirt and a black tie... I ended up going to the Levi's store in Timesquare and got some nice jeans and a black overshirt. We ate dinner at mexican restaurant close to the hotel (I can't remember the name). Afterwards we relaxed and eventually got ready for Pachas Nightclub for some fun.

Pacha's was REALLY LOUD. The bass in that building was powerful. I felt like every beat I was moving inches over the floor like I was being lifted up and moved. It cost $40 to get into the club and $5 for each bottle of water (we ended up having 3 each). I didn't drink anything because I just really hate the taste of alcohol. On the dancer floor there was hardly any room to move or dance because there was so many people. The music that was played had a really repetitive beat and in my opinion really ruined the club experience that night. We danced with a few girls and saw some strange things, but I'm going to keep this post G-rated!

We got back to the hotel around 2 in the morning, but went back out to take some good night pictures of Timesquare - well worth it.

Day 5

Sunday saw some shopping at Hershey's, M&Ms World, and some local shops for souvenirs and shirts for the family and some friends.

The next part really sucks because we had to leave for our flight back to Detroit. Our flight kept getting delayed and we ended up departing about 4 hours later than expected which got us to Detroit around 11:15pm. I didn't get home until around 2am because claiming our luggage made us wait almost another hour.
